Confessions of a Concealaholic

So for those who Benefit Cosmetic kit virgins, you are missing out. They are the handiest little things, all of them are perfect sizes to fit in your hand bag, and they contain all the products you need in one place, which makes them fantastic for travelling and summer - especially if you're heading to a festival this year!

This is my most recent gain into my make up draw. It's called Confessions of a Concealaholic, and contains everything you need to eliminate any flaws on your face, and enhance all the good stuff.

Products from left to right:
1. That Gal Brightening Face Primer
2. Lemon Aid - Colour Correcting Eyelid Primer
3. Eye Bright - Instant Eye Brightener
4. Erase Paste - Brightening Camouflage for Eyes and Face
5. Boi-ing 02 - Industrial Strength Concealer
6. Boi-ing 01 - Industrial Strength Concealer

I'm so excited about this little kit because it's just so perfect! You can mix the colours, and use all the products or just a few depending on how unfriendly your skin is looking that day. One thing I really like about Benefit's products too, is that they all smell really yummy, in a really natural way. The kit also comes with a little 'how-to' booklet, in case any one is new to concealing and needs a point in the right direction, but is also still handy for those unfamiliar to the products.

You can Confessions of a Concealaholic from Boots. RRP £28.50

Tropicoral Kit Review - Benefit Cosmetics

So recently I've been having a bit of a coral obsession. Which is unusual because I'm usually a fan of neutrals, and the brightest I get is a  red lip on occasion. But last month I went to Rome and popped in to Boots to buy some travel essentials - and of course a lot of non essentials - and came across this cheek and lip kit by Benefit.

And it is the cutest.
From left to right it contains:
Cha Cha Tint - a cheek and lip tint in a bright coral colour, builds beautifully, but you have to blend fast otherwise it will set

High Beam - A pink toned illuminator, added to the plains of the face gives a really beautiful dewy glow.

Coralista Blush - This is the sheerest blush I've ever used and requires a lot of layers, but builds to a lovely coppery finish. The brush is poor though, switch to a regular blush brush.

Ultra Plush Coralista Lip Gloss - I LOVE this gloss, it has a slight tropical scent to it as well which feels oh so summery. Goes on really sheer and smoothly and isn't sticky in the slightest. Leaves a shine.

Everything comes in a perfect travel size pot so you can remove them and use them as stand alones, or keep them together in a kit.

I've swatched them out for you so you can see them,

Lipgloss, Cha Cha Tint, High Beam, Coralista Blush.

Even though I put on three layers of the powder blush, I could not for the life of me, get my camera to pick it up, but it is there!

You can pick up this kit and some very similar ones in different shades here.

Benefit's Triple Performing Facial Emulsion - Oil Free SPF 15

I'm undecided about how to review this product. I received this free after picking up the 'Tropicoral' set, which I LOVE and will review as soon as I can. Anywho, this came in the cutest packaging, it was a sample size, so the bottle was a miniature version of the big one, which makes it oh so endearing. Like when they used to do those really tiny bottles of cola, and looking at them filled me with warm fuzzies, this bottle is similar. However the actual moisturiser is a pain to get out. Well not so much yet, but I can imagine that when the product is close to running out, you'll be banging this bottle on the palm of your hand until it's sore. So cute packaging, but not so practical.

The moisturiser though, I am really really fond of. My skin oozes oil all day every day, and I look like a swamp monster within hours of putting make up on. I cleanse with Clinique's three step formula, number three for oily skin, and this works in perfect combination with it, when I want a change from the moisturising gel. Also, it smells divine.
The finish on it is a matte finish, but it makes me skin feel so healthy and glowy that I'd consider not using a primer if I were to put make up on, which is a nice change for summer.

However, it leaves a bitter lingering taste around my lips, which is bizarre to encounter after moisturising.

I would without a doubt purchase this again, awkward bottle and all, if it weren't for the price tag, a hefty £20.50 for 50ml.

So maybe, one day, if I ever make it as an actress, they'll send me it free.
